Samuel L Jackson up for Deathgames
To play mind behind futuristic gladiator games...
Proving he still has a knack for spotting eye-catching titles, Samuel L Jackson is in talks to star in action flick Deathgames .
According to Heat Vision , the star has somehow found time for another film in-between his nine-picture Marvel deal, and is in negotiations to appear alongside Twilight ’s Kellan Lutz (below) in the indie actioner.
The website reveals the story thus:
“It centers on a young man (Lutz) who is kidnapped and forced into the savage world of a modern gladiator arena, where men fight to the death for entertainment of the online masses.
“Jackson orchestrates the games, overseeing them from his computer lair with the help of twin ladies who see to his every desire.”
Not exactly a stretch for Jackson. Nor the minds behind the flick – it’s basically Death Race meets Gladiator by way of The Running Man .
And, big surprise, it’s obviously the visuals that are being thought about more than the story here, as special effects supervisor Jonah Hill will be the one calling the shots from the director’s chair.

Still, if it appeals to the popcorn junkie in us all and keeps things lean and mean, Deathgame could end up being a cheesy B-movie must-see. That's a big 'if', though.
Next up for the acting duo, Jackson will be appearing as Nick Fury in Iron Man 2 (as part of that Marvel deal), and Lutz will be fleeing nightmare fiend Freddy Krueger in A Nightmare On Elm Street .
