Sarandon and Bonham Carter are Eleanor And Colette
A tale of friendship and psychotropic drugs
A chance for two of filmdom’s most respected actresses to team up? Bring it on, we say. That’s just what Rolf Schuebel’s new drama, Eleanor And Colette will offer.
The film will see Sarandon as a patient in a psychiatric institute who hires a lawyer (Bonham Carter) to represent her in a case against the hospital, which has been foisting unwanted drugs on her. During the case, the pair bond and form what’s described at Production Weekly as a “special friendship”. Make of that what you will.
Sebastian Koch, who will next be seen in Paul Verhoeven’s return to European films, Black Book, has also signed on for the shoot, which will kick off next year in San Francisco, Vancouver and Schuebel’s native Germany. Nice work if you can get it...
