Coming Soon has posted this new promotional image for Transformers: Dark Of The Moon , along with an interview with Michael Bay: “A lot of people [on a third film] will check out and get a paycheck. I've been working every day for two years because I want to make up for the second one and I want to leave this franchise the best I can… This one is a more mature storyline, definitely darker, more emotional in the end. You feel the stakes are higher because it takes place in an American city. You're not disconnected with Egypt and the pyramids. I'm very happy with the movie… It's a small group and you follow them. There’s no cavalry coming.We used the term ‘Black Hawk Down’. We try to make the cavalry unable to come. And it's more fun to watch our heroes in this epic ending with just a small group. It makes it more intimate.”
Lost Star Re-Elected As Gotham’s Mayor
Lost ’s Nestor Carbonell (he played the naturally guy-linered Richard Alpert) will return to Gotham City once more as the Mayor in director Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises , reports Variety .
Martha Jones’s Sister Cast In Odd Thomas
Gugu Mbatha-Raw ( Bonekickers , Lost In Austen , Martha’s sister Tish Jones in Doctor Who ) bounces back from the cancellation of her US series Undercover s with a role in the Dean R Koontz movie adaptation Odd Thomas . According to Variety , Mbatha-Raw’s role is unspecified, but she’ll join a cast including Star Trek ’s Anton Yelchin (who’s playing the title role – a guy who can see, but not hear ghosts), Addison Timlin and US comedian Patton Oswalt.
Mortal Kombat Legacy Could Be Expanding
The web series Mortal Kombat Legacy kicked off last week (you can see the first episode below), and already there’s talk that the project may be expanding. Talking to The New York Times , Eva Davis, general manager of Warner Brothers Premiere says, “We’re launching this production online now in conjunction with the new Mortal Kombat game, but we want to make this series available on DVD and potentially television.” Even more tantalisingly, Kevin Tsujihara, president of Warner Brothers Home Entertainment says he has been in contact with New Line Cinema president Toby Emmerich about another possible movie, but director Kevin Tancharoen warns, “This whole thing has really been a right-place-at-the-right-time kind of situation, and we still haven’t gotten the green light to do a full movie, so we still have work to do.” In the meantime, there’s a new picture of Baraka (above).
