Savage 2 enters beta testing
The game that wants you to kick ass, then write a diary entry about it
Oct 4, 2007
Online, multiplayer genre mash-up Savage 2: A Tortured Soul has launched beta testing for those who preordered the game, S2 Games announced today. The FPS/RPG/RTS hybrid is a sequel to 2003's Savage: The Battle for Newerth (now downloadable for free), and despite its subtitle, will not feature Sylvia Plath, Kurt Cobain, or Owen Wilson as playable characters.
New featuresinclude action-oriented "snap casting" (discussed in our preview) and "fully-automated clan administration." No word yet on the ability to smear on black eye shadow and listen to Dashboard Confessional while wondering why no one, including your parents, understands you.
The final version of the game will be available for purchase through a downloadable client once S2 is satisfied that beta testing has worked out all the kinks. Just don't push them - they're very sensitive right now.
