Okay, first off Amazon has a 2 Blu-rays for £10 offer currently running, including films such as Mars Attacks, Lost in Space, V for Vendetta, 300 and Demolition Man . Check it out.
With news that the battling angels of Legion might be heading for TV why not check out the original film? The DVD is available for £3.99 and the Blu-ray is £5.99 .
If attendees of the SFX Weekender are suffering from a lack of Brian Blessed in their lives they could always pick up Flash Gordon on DVD for just £3.99 or on Blu-ray for £6.49 . FLASH! ( Aaaaahhhhh-aaaaahhhhhh – ed. )
Fancy watching endless shots of a pair of vintage leather Chuck Taylor Converse All Stars high-tops? Check ’em out in I,Robot , available on Blu-ray for £6.99 . There are some robots in the film too apparently. The film is also available on DVD for just £3.39 .
Over at Play we spotted Mel Brooks’ horror comedy Young Frankenstein for £2.99 . Another horror comedy, Dog Soldiers , can be found on DVD for £2.98 . Play also has the Predator Quadrilogy boxed set £7.99 which features Arnie’s film, Danny Glover’s film and the two Alien Vs Predator movies too. You can also pick up Robert Rodriguez’s more recent Predators film on DVD for £4.99 .

A few sci-fi TV shows for you now, starting with Chris Carter’s dark X-Files spin-off of sorts; Millennium is available in a three-season box set on DVD for £23.97 .
We also saw series one of The Sarah Jane Adventures available from Amazon for £8.49 , and with series two available for £8.49 and series three for just £7.54 that’s over 30 episodes for less than £25 . Bargain!
Next we have a complete three-season DVD box set of teen alien drama Roswell , available from Play for £22.99 .
Amazon has the complete Buffy The Vampire Slayer on DVD for £38.97 and the complete Angel for the same price. Both sets have funky new packaging. Yes, we said funky, OK?
Next up we have Irwin Allen’s 60s classic series The Time Tunnel . That’s all 30 time-twisting episodes in one box for £14.49 .
HMV has the X-Men: Ultimate Collection . With all five seasons of this animated series and over 26 hours worth of action this is well worth the £24.99 price tag.
Moving onto the supermarkets now, and Asda wins the cheap sci-fi goodies award this week. First off it has a bunch of cheap Blu-rays including Waterworld, Doomsday, Twister, Tremors, Suck, Children of Men, Outlander, Twelve Monkeys and Land of the Dead , all for just £5 each.
Asda also has the Reel Hero limited edition cover DVD series. We saw Kick Ass, Hulk, Van Helsing, Serenity, Wanted, Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead, Scott Pilgrim and Hellboy 2 , all with pretty cartoon covers and all for £4 each. If you can’t be bothered leaving the house Zavvi has most of these limited edition DVDs for between £4.95 and £6.95 , but we recommend that true bargain hunters pop out to the shop and get some fresh air.
Also on the DVD shelves in Asda we spotted Houston having a problem with Apollo 13 for £3 , slacker zombie fun in Dead Heads for £7 , teeny tiny space ships in *batteries not included for £3 and X-Men 3 for a fiver . Asda also has classic Transformers cartoon DVDs too; season one for £5 and season three and four combined, again for £5 . No sign of season two though…
Tesco had pretty much the same as last time: The Adjustment Bureau for £7 , 300, Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, I am Legend, Blade, The Island and GI Joe for £5 each, with the addition of The Reaping and The Golden Compass for £5 each too.
Morrison’s this week had Avatar for £7 , The Dead also for £7 , Guy Richie’s Sherlock Holmes for £6 , Stardust for £3 and the recent Doctor Who Christmas special for £7 .
From the forum Sensei Ping found Jon Pertwee’s third Doctor in Doctor Who – Planet of the Spiders for £6.99 .
Kevinj told us that Morrison’s is selling the first seasons of Chuck, Supernatural , and The Big Bang Theory for £7 each.
Jonemoongoose got Thor for £5 in Sainsbury, and also spotted Green Lantern for the same price but said even at just a fiver copies of the film aren’t selling. We prefer Green Hornet (available from Amazon also for £5 ) anyhow.
Mozz picked up season one of Fringe for £12 in HMV. Which he says was nice.
And our own Ian Berriman found Rod Serling’s anthology show Night Gallery for £6 . Mr Berriman also found The Flipside Of Dominick Hide / Another Flip For Dominick on DVD for £3.49 and ’70s kids anthology show Shadows for £4.99 . Ian wanted everybody to know we gave the show four stars when we reviewed it, so check it out.
Boo from the forum suggests this new book from Max Brooks: Closure, Limited is a collection of short stories set in his zombie infested World War Z universe and can be yours for £3.99 .
