Building a sci-fi collection doesn’t have to break the bank, if you follow Steven Ellis’s sage-like advice
Hello and welcome to this week’s SFX Bargains round-up… Got some spare cash? Step this way. We have plenty of ideas for you to spend it on… Fancy something sci-fi for the weekend? Come with us. We have some suggestions for you…

The never-ending Disney DVD and Blu-ray offers are still going strong; Asda is still selling DVDs at 2 for £15 and Blu-rays at 2 for £20 in store. Amazon is also still running its slightly cheaper Disney offers as well; click here for the 2 Blu-rays for the £16 page and here for the 2 DVDs for £13.99 page. We’d say rush, but it seems this offer may never end…
Last week we brought you some classic Trek films on Blu-ray. This week they’re back because the price has gone down. Star Trek: First Contact is now only £6.57 and Star Trek 2: The Wrath Of Khan is £8.46 .
You can also pick up The Motion Picture for £8.08 or The Voyage Home and The Search For Spock for £7.79 each. All the other Star Trek films are available on Blu-ray for under £9 a pop, even Nemesis if you really want it.
All three volumes of The Adventures Of Young Indiana Jones on DVD are going cheap in Amazon’s deals of the week. Volume one will cost you £14.37 , Volume two is going for £14.97 and Volume three is also £14.97 . All told that’s about a year’s worth of TV with Indy meeting every famous person in history ever.
Also from Amazon this week, Avatar: The Legend of Aang animated series Book one and Book two are available on DVD for £8.97 each.
After a very long wait Space: Above And Beyond is finally coming to DVD. The complete boxed set is out on 30 April, priced £27.99 , you can pre-order the set here . The 90-minute pilot is also available to pre-order separately for £7.99 .

We also saw Lego Batman , Lego Harry Potter and Lego Pirates Of The Caribbean games for the Wii at £15 each.
Over the road in Morrison’s things again looked the same as last week. Come on Supermarkets, time to restock those shelves now… Morrison’s still has the Reel Hero limited edition cover DVDs including Shaun Of The Dead, Hot Fuzz, Kick Ass, The Hulk and Wanted all for £5 each. Just a couple of suggestions from the forum this week, they must all be off scoffing chocolate eggs. Wee Little Puppet Man told us about this Han Versus Mal T-shirt for £20 . Not a bargain exactly, he just felt the need to share…
We’ll also remind you that Silverfox 67 said we should check out the Kindle sci-fi book listings page on Amazon as there are always bargains to be had there. If you have a Kindle you can pick up book for mere pennies…
And finally Midnighter was on hand to tell us that his local branch of Morrison’s had Star Wars Transformers for £3.98 and Kre-o Transformers for £2.98 . Midnighter also told us that the Character Builders Dalek/Cyberman/Weeping Angel Army Building sets are now only £1.98 .
Some random and bizarre ideas for you now; first Count Libido from the forum pointed us in the direction of something we wished was real but turned out to be an April Fools gag. Check out the
Admiral Ackbar Singing Bass . Think Geek has a habit of coming up with April Fools ideas that later go into production like the Tauntaun sleeping bag here , so maybe we’ll all have an Ackbar on our walls before too long…
Another tempting item for the Game Of Thrones fans out there next. Play has a set of coasters depicting the standards for Houses Targaryen, Stark, Lannister and Baratheon. The set is out in April, but you can pre-order it now for £5.49 .
You can also get fridge magnets . The set contains the same four house standards, with the addition of houses Arryn, Greyjoy and Tulley. Again this set is available to pre-order for £5.49 .
As always, if you find anything we’ve brought you this week cheaper somewhere else please mention it in the comments section below. We want as many bargains ideas for our readers as we can get. If anyone out there spots a sci-fi bargain in the coming week and they want to share then please click through to our forum and mention it in the relevant thread. This thread is for bargain films and this one is for TV bargains and finally this thread is for any random bargain you might find. Keep your eyes peeled for great offers for SFX to share and maybe your find will be in the bargain list next time.
