The UK’s leading science fiction and fantastic film festival returns
Sci-Fi-London, or to give the event its full title, The London International Festival of Science Fiction and Fantastic Film (you can see why they shortened it) lands in Camden Town from 7 – 9 October 2011, where you can catch its notorious Oktoberfest screenings, workshops and celebrations.
Oktoberfest is the mini-version of Sci-Fi-London, and takes place at the Odeon Camden, Camden Head and the new Cyber Market. Now in its tenth year, the festival organisers have pulled out all the stops to ensure this Oktoberfest is one to remember, with screenings of Love ( a tale of a lone astronaut stranded aboard the International Space Station driven by the music of Angels And Airwaves – the other music project of Blink 182’s Tom Delonge) and The Divide – a basement bound thriller set in a post-apocalyptic New York from Xavier Gens, director of Frontier(s) .
Other festival highlights include Rob Deb’s sci-fi cabaret, Sci-Fi London’s traditional anime allnight screenings, Another Earth (which you may have read about in SFX 213), Phase 7 , Helldriver and By Day And By Night . Tickets are on sale now from the Odeon box office – Odeon.co.uk or 0871 22 44 007. Full details can be found at SCI-FI-LONDON.COM
