Scott Pilgrim vs. The World film trailer looks super promising

A new (real) Scott Pilgrim vs. The World trailerwas released today, and though we were previously skeptical, it captivated us. If you're not familiar with the graphic novels, they follow the misadventures of Scott Pilgrim, a clueless slacker/bassist who must defeat the "seven evil exes" of the girl he loves before he can date her. True to the series, thetrailer is packed with videogame references - somethingdirector Edgar Wright, who previously directed Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead, is fully experienced with.

UPDATE: NBC Universal apparently doesn't want you to see the film's trailer, so they removed it from YouTube. You'll have to go here to see it.

While we're still not entirely sold on Michael Cera as Scott Pilgrim (our initial reaction was that he's too... "Michael Cera" for the role), we're willing to see what he brings.Keegster13, one of our Internet Friends on Twitter, was an extra on the film, and told us that Cera "did it pretty well." He also told us that Cera almost hit him with his car, which is unrelated and irrelevant but pretty cool. And yes, our source on this is Twitter - deal with it.

Bonus! Michael Cera on Zach Galifianakis' always-absurdly-hilarious Between Two Ferns:

If you haven't readthe Scott Pilgrim series, the bookscome highly recommended from the GamesRadar staff. Also look forward to Ubisoft Montreal's game based on the series, which will be released alongside the film (August 13th). Let's hope it doesn't suck.

What are your thoughts on the trailer?
