The game’s release was pushed to February 2013, but Nintendo announced a fresh European delay just days before the title was due to hit shelves, explaining only that “some changes need to be implemented within the game before we launch them across Europe”. A PC version of the game did launch in Europe in February.
We said of the Wii U version of the game in our Scribblenauts Unlimited review: “Scribblenauts Unlimited is easily the best entry in the series to date, thanks to its family-friendly nature coupled with creative, wide-open gameplay. A clever toy or a focused open world adventure depending on how you want to enjoy the game, it’s an impressive first effort from 5th Cell on the Wii U.”
Last month, publisher Warner confirmed that the next game in the series, Scribblenauts Unmasked: DC Comics Adventure will release for PC, Wii U and 3DS on September 24, 2013 in the US. European release plans have yet to be confirmed.
