Sega Genesis Collection - hands-on
A testament to epic 2D adventure, from the left side of the TV to the right side
In terms of audio and video, these ports are looking pretty faithful, even if you may wonder why they bothered to convert a few clunkers. The numb sluggishness of Gain Ground and the annoying, shrill sound of Flicky probably should have been left off in favor of better titles.
There are also some unlockable extras, like video interviews with Genesis-era game makers. Still - some serious heavies are absent. Where's Streets of Rage, Gunstar Heroes and Toejam and Earl? Sigh. Well, even without them, the collection looks sharp, and we'll judge it fully on the early November release date. For a full list of included games, click here.
