Serious Sam 3: BFE trailer offers assistance for cowardly cover shooter fans
Croteam kicks ups the funny in fake help line ads
Whether or not you're down with Serious Sam 3: BFE's old school FPS vibe, it's hard not to crack a smile at its tongue-in-cheek marketing campaign. Case in point: Croteam's latest (fake) help line ad which takes a few chuckle worthy jabs at its Gears of Modern Battlefield: Human Effect 3 competition.
This is part one of a three-part campaign designed to subtly remind players Serious Sam 3 is all about the running and gunning without the modern FPS trappings.
“I’m already fielding all sorts of calls from shooter fans wondering where all the conveniently placed barricades and random concrete walls are in Serious Sam 3: BFE,” said Rich Knuckles, the made up assistant supervisor at the Serious Sam 3: BFE Help Line in today's release. “Most of these guys have gotten soft from years of crouching behind cover, picking off one or two approaching enemies as they make their way through missions. It’s pathetic.”
Serious Sam 3: BFE is headed to PCs on October 18th, with console release dates still to come.
