Seth Rogen releases first image from AMCs Preacher
Shooting is currently underway on AMC’s adaptation of Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon’s beloved comic Preacher, and the first on set photo has now arrived online. Courtesy of Seth Rogen, who directs along with Evan Goldberg, the image depicts Dominic Cooper as the titular preacher Jesse Custer and Ian Colletti as the unfortunately-named Arseface. Granted, the two actors are obscured by the low-lit scene, but it’s still a tasty tease of what’s to come in this long-anticipated series. Lifting its story from the original comics run the show follows Custer and his merry band of misfits. A conflicted man of the cloth, he gains the ability to make anyone do as he says when he becomes merged with a creature that’s recently escaped heaven and seeks to track down God for answers.
This deliciously twisted tale also has Breaking Bad’s Sam Catlin on board as showrunner and a cast that includes Ruth Negga, Joseph Gilgun, Lucy Griffiths, W. Earl Brown and Elizabeth Perkins. Should the pilot impress AMC brass the show is expected to land a full series order for 2016.
