If dystopia's your thing, and watching teens rage against the machine stokes your fire, then the latest trailer for Lionsgate's Divergent saga is here to remind you that Katniss' battle isn't the only post-apocalyptic yarn on the block. Allegiant finds the youngsters from the previous entries, Tris and Four, up against a much bigger opponent than before: the world outside the wall.
Earlier trailers honed in on this newly-expanded terrain, highlighting the barren, arid landscapes that exist beyond Chicago's borders. This latest effort includes more of the same, as well as upping the emotional weight for Tris and her loyal band of divergents.
After the somewhat disappointing Insurgent, Allegiant's certainly got a lot to prove. A change of scenery, and the inclusion of new cast members, might be the shot in the arm this franchise needs before delivering its final installment, 2017's Ascendant.
Directed by Robert Schwenke, and starring Shailene Woodley, Theo James, Miles Teller, Ansel Elgort, Naomi Watts, Octavia Spencer, and Jeff Daniels, Allegiant opens in the UK and US on March 18, 2016.
