Sherlock Holmes 2 is called A Game Of Shadows
Sequel gets a subtitle
The Amazing Spider-Man got a brand new title only yesterday – so why not Sherlock Holmes 2 , as well?
The official title to Guy Ritchie’s period follow-up has been revealed as the very mysterious, number-less Sherlock Holmes: A Game Of Shadows .
What that has to do with the plot itself is beyond us, though it’s just as ambiguous as any of the titles dreamed up by Arthur Conan Doyle ( The Signs Of The Four …)
All we know about the story for Game Of Shadows so far is that it reunites Holmes and his trusted associate Watson as they finally battle arch nemesis Professor Moriarity – with the help of Holmes’ brother Mycroft.
Mad Men ’s Jared Harris plays Moriarity, Stephen Fry is Mycroft, and Noomi Rapace makes her English-language debut as a gypsy. We wonder if she watched My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding for research.
Sherlock Holmes: A Game Of Shadows opens 16 December.
