Shrek spin-off Puss in Boots gets a trailer
The swashbuckling kitty returns
Although Shrek Forever After was purported to be the final installment of the Dreamworks saga, that didn't include feline spin-offs.
It can't have been a difficult decision to give Antonio Banderas' swashbuckling kitty his own movie, as he was one of the franchise's most consistently fun characters since his arrival in Shrek 2 .
The teaser is light on details, though it is thought that the plot will revolve around Puss in Boots' life before he met Shrek and Donkey.
Salma Hayek is set to play his love interest, while Hangover man Zach Galifianikis will play Humpty Dumpty.
As much as we're not sure the world really needs this, it's certainly a fun teaser, beginning with an Inception -riffing score, before showcasing Puss in Boots' charismatic swagger.

Puss in Boots is set to hit cinemas on 9 December 2011.
