Shrek The Third's cast grows
Comedy stars added to the fairytale sequel
Like Jack’s magical beanstalk, the roster of thesps adding their voices to Shrek The Third just sprouted a whole new section.
The producers have announced that Cameron Diaz’ Princess Fiona will be aided in her quest to save the kingdom of Far, Far Away from a returning Prince Charming (Rupert Everett) by the a strike force comprising Amy Sedaris as Cinderella, Amy Poehler as Snow White, Maya Rudolph as Rapunzel and Cheri Oteri as Sleeping Beauty.
Also listed in appearing in the film – which will see Shrek trying to groom a young King Arthur (Justin Timberlake) to take his place in the kingdom - are Deadwood’s Ian McShane as Captain Hook, US Office co-star John Krasinski Sir Lancelot and Eric Idle, who will join his old Python mate John Cleese and play Merlin.
As usual, Mike Myers and Eddie Murphy are back as Shrek and Donkey, while Antonio Banderas is also returning to play Puss In Boots. But you knew that…
