Simon Pegg is a Fat Boy
The Shaun Of The Dead star piles on the (fake) pounds for a new film
Since making a splash with Shaun Of The Dead, Simon Pegg has been hunted by Hollywood, turning up in such films as Mission: Impossible III, and the upcoming dark comedy Big Nothing, alongside former Friends star David Schwimmer.
So it’s reassuring that even though he can’t be bothered to show up to promote Shaun team follow-up Hot Fuzz at Comic-Con (okay, okay, he was on holiday with his other half, taking a well earned break after Fuzz), he’s sticking with Blighty for the majority of his film roles.
He’s also re-teaming with Schwimmer, though this time the man formerly known as Ross will be behind the camera. He’s making his big screen directing debut on Run, Fat Boy, Run, which was written by Wet Hot American Summer’s Michael Ian Black.
Run, Fat Boy, Run follows a loveable, but neglectful bloke who ditches his fiancée on their wedding day. Years later, the remorseful sort realises that he truly loves her and tries to win her back by finishing a marathon. He’ll have some competition, though – she’s engaged to be married to someone else…
Look out for possible sightings of Pegg in a fat suit from next month.
