The first trailer has arrived online for Hector And The Search For Happiness , in which Simon Pegg stars as a psychiatrist growing increasingly unhappy with his lot.
And so, as yet another troubled patient leaves his office without much sign of improvement, Pegg decides to up sticks to China in an attempt to rejuvenate himself and recover his lost mojo.
So begins an attempt to rediscover “happiness”, and just how it might be achieved. However, as Pegg sets about cheering himself up, his wife’s (Rosamund Pike) patience becomes increasingly frayed…

With a typically warm central performance from Pegg and an all-star cast backing him up, this looks like a genuinely appealing proposition, with some great gags dotted throughout the trailer. We’re thinking of that dropped pan in particular…
Adapted from the novel by François Lelord, directed by Peter Chelsom and co-starring Christopher Plummer, Toni Collette and Stellan Skarsgård, Hector And The Search For Happiness will open in the UK this autumn.
