Simpsons movie teaser debuted
Fox unveil 25 second clip with Ice Age 2
First it was talked about. Then it went quiet. Then it was rumoured to be live-action but now it’s really coming and we’re wetting ourselves because The Simpsons Movie has a teaser trailer!
Those lucky US cousins of ours nestled their rears into theatre seats this weekend to catch Ice Age 2: The Meltdown and witnessed The Simpsons announce their arrival to the big screen.
The 25 second clip opens with a giant letter “S” on the screen as the powerful voiceover tells us: “Leaping his way onto the silver screen, the greatest hero in American history.” Cue Homer J sitting in his smalls on the famous brown couch… “I forgot what I was supposed to say,” the yellow mugged icon says.
“The Simpsons Movie, coming to the screen, July 27, 2007,” The voice over says. “Uh, oh,” Homer announces, “we’d better get started.”
Creator Matt Groening scribbled the first series of the world’s favourite sitcom in 1989 and it’s now the longest running primetime show on television.
The voice work for the heavily anticipated flick has reportedly begun at Film Roman Studios in Burbank, California.
