Duke Nukem Forever
When it comes to lengthy development, the Duke is still king. First announced in 1997, various versions of DNF have been created and abandoned over the years, due to the game engines used falling behind in the PC technology race. Latest word (as of early 2006) is that the current version's development is going well; hopefully it can be released in 2007, in time to celebrate its own 10-year anniversary.
