Halo, Kameo, GT4... The games that took an eternity to make
Final Fantasy XII
Announced in 2001, PS2's next Final Fantasy was under the obsessive directorship of Yasumi Matsuno, known for his games' scarily huge depth rather than their timeliness. No surprise that FFXII missed its initial 2003 release, then – but it was suprising when it missed 2004 and 2005 as well, or when in mid-2005 Square finally admitted Matsuno had already left the project. A final release date is set for 2006.
