Sneak preview of Halo movie script
Hollywood film adaptation to stay faithful to game
A review of a leaked copy of the upcoming Halo movie reveals that it will include many of the game's set-pieces in an attempt to stay faithful to the classic first-person shooter.
The opening sequence involves Master Chief having a flashback to a huge battle between the Covenant and an army of Spartan warriors. He's then snapped out of the dream as he's called to defend the huge battle-cruiser The Pillar of Autumn, just as he did at the beginning of the first Halo game.
Other memorable moments that have also been included are the Marine evacuation to Halo, storming the beaches against the Covenant forces and the discovery of the horrific Flood, confirms film site aintitcool.com, who reviewed the script and described it as "Saving Private Ryan in space".
The movie is being made by Peter Jackson's production company, WingNut Films, and the Lord of the Rings director is executive producer of the project. The other high profile name involved with the film is 28 Days Later writer Alex Garland and it's his script that has been reviewed.
Halo the movie is slated for release in 2007
