If you recognize the name pelikan13, you probably think of him as a god among Sonic the Hedgehog fans. If you don't, you should know that his 3D remake of Emerald Hill Zone was one of the best things to happen to the little blue mascot in the past decade. And now he's at it again.
We can only begin to imagine how long it took Mr. Pelikan to completely redesign the penultimate classic platforming level. Heck, even Sega apparently doesn't have the patience for it. So we understand his initial reluctance to continue onward with his project.
Nevertheless, he says he's back and ready to take on the next level from the Sonic the Hedgehog 2 Genesis game - Chemical Plant Zone.
"I did take a rather long break from it but I'm getting my enthusiasm back," he said in an online post. As for the completion date of the Chemical Plant Zone remake, "If all goes well it should be ready by early February."
If you want to play the genius's original creation, the Emerald Hill Zone 3D remake is availablehere. We bow our heads, and if pelikan13 manages to remake every level in Sonic 2, I'll personally buy him a drink. Hell, I'll even buy him two.
