Sophie Turner, Saoirse Ronan and Tye Sheridan testing for young Jean and Scott in X-Men: Apocalypse
We’ve known for a while that X-Men: Apocalypse will introduce younger versions of seminal characters Jean Grey and Scott Summers, with a batch of new names apparently in the running to play the two roles.
Chloe Grace Moretz had previously been linked to the part of Jean, but with the actress having reportedly passed on the role, Latino Review claims that Sophie Turner and Saoirse Ronan are the new frontrunners.
As for Scott AKA Cyclops, the site claims that Mud star Tye Sheridan is set to test for the role as the studio’s candidate of choice. Taron Edgerton is also said to be a contender…
The report goes on to suggest that a younger, Mohawk-sporting version of Storm will also be included, with Alexandra Shipp and Zendaya Coleman said to be interesting the studio for that particular role.
Directed by Bryan Singer and starring the returning James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence, X-Men: Apocalypse will open in the UK on 19 May 2016, and in the US a week later.
