Sora is all grown in up Kingdom Hearts 3
His next adventure set to explore new Disney worlds
Kingdom Hearts 3 will feature a more “mature” Sora, according to John Pleasants, co president of Disney Interactive. During an E3 2013 presentation about the future of Square Enix, a bit more information surfaced about KH3, including the fact that the team behind the PSP game, Birth By Sleep, is developing it.
The mythos of Kingdom Hearts is practically impossible to follow, but a press release about KH3 states that Master Xehanort intends to war with the “tyranny of light,” which sends Sora and company on a quest in search of the seven guardians of light and the “Key to Return Hearts.” So there’s that.
Far more exciting than the inevitably convoluted premise, though, is that KH3 will explore some new Disney worlds never before seen in the Kingdom Hearts franchise. Know what that means? STAR WARS. And very likely some Pixar planets, considering Disney now has a ton to choose from.
There was no mention about a projected release date, as KH3 is still in early development—but it will be coming to both PS4 and Xbox One sometime in the future.
