Anyone who remembers the episode where the boys' ninja-centric imaginations take center stage will no doubt recall what a remarkably kick ass ordeal it all was. But we can understand if many of you are wondering why it's on our list of game references. Sure, it's mostly a spot-on parody of Japanese animation, complete witha rousing Engrish anthem. We could easily justify its placement by drawing a long winded comparison aboutAnime's influence on games, and vice versa, blah blah Naruto, blah blah. But lucky for us, and you, we needn't bother.
Eagle-eyed gamers probably know what we're getting at.Given that the extensive character designs brought the Season 8 opener well over its usual one week production schedule, who can blame the artists for drawing inspiration from some of our favorite fighters? The guys bear a striking resemblance to certain characters from Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat, just to name a few.
Of course, it's all fun and games until Butters loses an eye. And because we just wouldn't be your friend if we didn't include it, here's grammar deficient, J-pop theme. Whet's fighting wuuuv.
