Spider-Man: Homecoming confirms Vulture is the villain with some killer concept art
While Sony sat out today's frankly astonishing slew of Hall H presentations, we didn't miss out on any webhead action now that Spidey's officially in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Tom Holland's stepping back into the webhead's iconic blue 'n' red ensemble for Spider-Man: Homecoming, which will find the 15-year-old superhero dealing with typical teenage angst, sticky wrists, and this guy:
Vulture. This first piece of concept art for the movie confirms what's been rumored for months. The baddie was announced during Marvel's SDCC panel by studio head Kevin Feige, who - in true Marvel style - wouldn't go one step further and tell us who's playing the character! That's not going to stop the world from donning their monocles and sniffing out the truth, however.
It's suspected that Michael Keaton is playing the character, with Logan Marshall-Green as his sidekick The Tinkerer. Should those rumors turn out to be correct, then all those gadgets you see in the Vulture's outfit? Yeah, that's scavenged Chitauri tech from the first Avengers movie. Trust Marvel to keep it all connected...
Directed by Jon Watts and starring Tom Holland, Marisa Tomei, Robert Downey Jr, Tony Revolori, Laura Harrier, Michael Keaton, Donald Glover and Zendaya, Spider-Man: Homecoming will swing into cinemas on July 7, 2017.
