Spider-Man reboot gets an official title & maybe a villain
A few days ago we reported that the title for the upcoming Spider-Man reboot may have been prematurely unveiled, and now it looks like those rumours were true; Spider-Man: Homecoming is the official title for the new film. Spider-Man himself Tom Holland revealed the news (and the official title treatment) at Sony's CinemaCon panel in Las Vegas. Check it out below...

In case you were wondering about the implications of the title, Sony president Tom Rothman said that it refers to Spidey coming home to Marvel in addition to the high school event that Peter Parker will go through. Makes sense.
What's less clear is whether or not the Vulture will be making an appearance in the film. Birth Movies Death certainly seems to think so, although they don't know if he will be the central antagonist or just a baddie Spidey will encounter at the start of the movie. In any case, Vulture is a solid choice for a villain and it will doubtless be a great opportunity to showcase Spidey's aerial abilities. Time will tell...
Directed by Jon Watts and starring Tom Holland, Marisa Tomei, and Zendaya, Spider-Man: Homecoming will swing into cinemas on July 7, 2017.
