Splinter Cell and Prince of Persia HD classic trilogy collections announced
PS3 bundles coming to retail stores and PSN in March
We wish we could say that The Prince and Sam Fisher are teaming up to fight evil, because that would be awesome, but they're not. They are becoming marketing buddies, though.
Ubisoft has officially announced HD trilogy collections for Splinter Cell and Prince of Persia. The original three games from each series have been remastered in HD (enhanced blockiness!) for the PS3, and willinclude stereoscopic 3D support, so you can look like Sam Fisher while playing as Sam Fisher.
It should be noted that theclassic Prince of Persia games havebeen available on PSN since November, so the only news there is that the trilogy will now be available on Blu-Ray and as a packaged download. And we already knew the Splinter Cell collection was coming, as that information leaked a while back. The news is really the details, which are in the next paragraph, so you'd better jump on down there.
Both collections will be released March 22, 2011 at retail stores or as digital bundles on PSN, and will cost $39.99 each. The retail versions will include all three games from each series (Splinter Cell, Pandora Tomorrow and Chaos Theory/The Sands of Time, Warrior Within, and The Two Thrones) on single Blu-Ray discs.
