The ghosts are back in Poltergeist remake trailer and poster
If yesterday’s crop of photos from the Poltergeist remake didn’t send shivers down your spine, then the first trailer just might do the job.
The film stars Sam Rockwell and Rosemary Dewitt as an unwitting couple who move into their new abode that happens to have been built on a cemetery. Cue a gaggle of lingering, pesky spirits who decide to snatch their daughter away to a parallel dimension... much like Carol Anne was thirty three years ago.

The jumps are amped up considerably from those in Tobe Hooper’s original 1982 chiller. Not fond of clowns? It seems now that inanimate dolls are not content with just appearing on one’s bed in a sinister fashion. Nope, now they jump. Onto your face.
A modern-day retelling, its influences make themselves known in this brief tease. Sly nods to Paranormal Activity, Insidious and The Conjuring imbue a ton of genuinely scary scenes into what’s only a PG-13 movie!
Directed by Gil Kenan and produced by Evil Dead maestro Sam Raimi, Poltergeist lands in US theaters on 24 July 2015, with a UK date expected to be confirmed soon. Check out the new poster in full below:
