Spooky trailer round-up featuring FEAR 3, Dead Space 2 and Shadows of the Damned
Game makers celebrate the scary holiday in their favorite way: promotional videos!
We’ll start with FEAR 3, or F3AR if you’re into that sort of thing. Though this trailer doesn’t explicitly reference Halloween, it’s the most frightening one we’ve seen today. You got a creepy girl, some undead guy, dead bodies coming to life, fetuses, and the old "eerie silence that leads to a smash cut" trick. Not bad guys and creepy girl.
EA and Grasshopper Manufacture used the holiday to put out a new trailer for Shadows of the Damned. Announced last month during Tokyo Game Show, Shadows is an action-horror that has a super group of talent behind the wheel, including the creators of Resident Evil, No More Heroes and Silent Hill, so anything new about the game is appreciated. This video is short and sweet and even wishes you a happy Halloween at the close. Well isn’t that nice?
Finally, we wrap up this story with the most explicitly Halloween-related trailer of the bunch. Featuring a live action Isaac Clarke hacking away at some mysterious object, it ends up making a cute reference to the occasion. And whoever wears that Isaac outfit to the EA company costume contest will win for sure. Who do we have to strategically dismember to get our hands on one of those?
