Stan Winston RIP
Legendary monster make dies aged 62
The man known for some of cinema’s greatest special effects has died. Stan Winston, whose amazing creations graced the likes of Aliens, Terminator 2, Jurassic Park and, most recently, Iron Man, lost his battle with myeloma in the early hours of Sunday.
His contribution to cinema has been huge, with Oscars sitting on his shelves and his easygoing personality made a huge impact on those he worked with. “Stan was a fearless and courageous artist/inventor and for many projects, I rode his cutting edge from teddy bears to aliens to dinosaurs. My world would not have been the same without Stan, Steven Spielberg told Variety. “What I will miss most is his easy laugh every time he said to me, ‘Nothing is impossible.’”
Variety has his full obituary . Thanks for everything Stan – you’ll be sorely missed.
