Star Trek: Tactical Assault - hands-on
The world isn't flat, but deep space may just be
This mission was just one of many planned outings in which your actions can affect the course of the game. You can't totally break Trek continuity (Tactical Assault mainly follows the Kirk-era movies), but there's still some room to shake things up - as either the Federation or the Klingon Empire.
So far, this seems a little simple, and touch-screen features aside, the DS and PSP games play and even look mostly the same. Both also offer up multiplayer modes that extend the playable races to Romulan, Gorn and Orion, with each bringing its usual mantra and fighting style to the 2D flight plan. Trek fans will be happy to know that some veteran writers are helming this game's story, so if nothing else, maybe it'll be a good read.
