Play as Darth Vader in Star Wars Battlefront's Beta in early October
Our wish is apparently EA's command. Star Wars Battlefront is getting a beta across PS4, Xbox One and PC in early October and we'll be able to play as none other than Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker. "The Star Wars Battlefront Beta is a technical test and will feature Walker Assault on Hoth, a 40-player multiplayer battle featuring Rebels and the Empire," says the announcement on the official site.
"Walker Assault will also give you the chance to play as two of the most iconic characters in the Star Wars universe: Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker. The Beta will also feature our Survival Mission on Tatooine, where you and a Rebel friend must fight back waves of Imperial forces."
EA is teasing the Drop Zone mode as part of the beta but is dangling that as a proper reveal for a later date. It has also revealed the Star Wars Battlefront Companion Experience app which will let us play in-game card game Base Command. This means earning in-game credits on the go that can unlock Star Cards and weapons in the game. The Companion also lets you check your progression and customise load outs as well as connect with friends and compare stats. It'll be available online and on iOS and Android prior to the release of the game on November 19th.
