The Star Wars Battlefront beta begins October 8
The Star Wars Battlefront Beta will run from October 8 to October 12, EA and DICE announced today. All PS4, Xbox One, and PC players will be free to download the beta and try out Walker Assault on Hoth (complete with playable Darth Vader), Drop Zone on Sullust, and the Stranded on Tatooine survival mission in two-player co-op.
Players will be able to advance up to level 5 and unlock items with in-game credits, though no progress will carry forward to the full release. Beta players can try out the Star Wars Battlefront "companion experience" - which includes the Base Command strategic card game - via browser during the beta. Dedicated apps will hit Android and iOS in time for Star Wars Battlefront's release date on November 17.
EA says the beta will take up roughly 7GB of storage on PS4 and Xbox One and 11GB on PC. Don't forget that you can start playing the full version of Battlefront five days early if you're an EA Access subscriber on Xbox One.

I got a BA in journalism from Central Michigan University - though the best education I received there was from CM Life, its student-run newspaper. Long before that, I started pursuing my degree in video games by bugging my older brother to let me play Zelda on the Super Nintendo. I've previously been a news intern for GameSpot, a news writer for CVG, and now I'm a staff writer here at GamesRadar.
