Start counting the pennies... here's your new Ghostbusters action figures
The Ghostbusters are returning to our screens this summer for the first time since 1989. While there's yet to be an official teaser for the new quartet in action, Sony has let a few things slip through the cracks - via director Paul Feig's Twitter. In addition to dropping character posters and mini-biogs, he's now gifted fans with a sneaky peek at the prototype models for Mattel's upcoming action figure line!

All four of the spook hunters - Erin Gilbert (Kristen Wiig), Abby Yates (Melissa McCarthy), Patty Tolan (Leslie Jones) and Jillian Holtzman (Kate McKinnon) - will be available in 6" figure form.
As Feig says, they're prototypes and so the finished versions won't be hitting shelves for a while. When they do, which we imagine will be closer to the film's release date, all four will be sold separately and as a set. Feig confirms other toy companies in on the action include Funko, Diamond Select and Lego, and that we can expect to see a wide range of collectibles (a rebooted-n-suited ECTO-1, perhaps?) released in the future.
Ghostbusters opens in the UK and US on July 15.
