Stephen Chow has A Hope
And his latest has worldwide distribution
It’s fair to say we at Total Film love Stephen Chow, the multi-talented, ultra-acrobatic man behind the likes of Shaolin Soccer and Kung Fu Hustle.
So we’re delighted to learn that not only does his latest, A Hope, feature more of the CG-wackiness he did so well in Hustle, but it also has a distributor in Sony, which means we should get to see it… well, we don’t know when exactly yet, but hopefully before the end of the year. Or before the end of the decade, if it has the same dodgy luck as Shaolin Soccer.
According to The Hollywood Reporter , A Hope finds a penniless Chinese labourer’s life affected in strange ways after his son gets a strange new pet. Important lessons follow, wrapped in more of his trademark madness.
Come on Sony… Get that sucker released!
