Stephen Gaghan to polish M Night Shyamalan's sci-fi script
Makes changes to 'One Thousand A.E.'
Stephen Gaghan, the screenwriter of Traffic and Syriana , has been drafted in to polish up the script for M Night Shyamalan’s latest, One Thousand A.E.
Variety reports that Shyamalan’s first film since flop The Last Airbender “stars Will and Jaden Smith as father and son who crash land on Earth one thousand years after mankind has abandoned the planet.”
Shyamalan, who has previously solely written all nine of his feature films, had originally taken a script from Gary Whitta ( The Book Of Eli ) before rewriting.
The extent of Gaghan's tinkering is unknown, but his involvement can only be positive for the project, which is due to start filming in February 2012 for a summer 2013 release.
Will Smith will next be seen in Men In Black III , out next year.
