Stephen Mangan voicing Postman Pat in 3D movie
Rupert Grint, David Tennant and Jim Broadbent also onboard
Stephen Mangan, the Brit actor best known for comedy series Green Wing , will lend his voice to a new 3D animated movie based around the beloved children's TV character, Postman Pat.
He's got a starry bunch of supporting vocalists to back him up too, with Rupert Grint, David Tennant and Jim Broadbent also bagging roles.
The film, entitled Postman Pat: You Know You're The One , sees the titular postie leave Greendale to enter a glitzy, X Factor -type talent show.
That plot synopsis alone is enough to have us complaining about having unmentionables done to our childhoods, but the cast is pretty intriguing; could this be a genuinely funny take on the nostalgic material?
As long as black-and-white cat Jess and the red van (non-negiotiables) are involved, we'll give this one the benefit of the doubt. No word yet on whether it'll be stop-motion animation or CGI though.
The film is set to arrive in spring 2013.
