Steve Carell talks Anchorman 2
“I hope it’s exactly the same”
Anchorman: The Legend Continues has finally begun shooting in Atlanta, and Steve Carell popped on to The Tonight Show With Jay Leno to give a quick update on what we can expect from the sequel.
Carell plays the clinically slow-witted Brick Tamland, a character he says he hopes hasn’t grown at all since the last outing, nearly ten years ago.
“He will not evolve. He will devolve,” speculates Carell. “My hope with the movie was that it’s going to be exactly the same ... nobody changes.”
The new film will find Ron Burgundy (Will Ferrell) threatened by the prominence of a handsome rival newscaster (James Marsden), while Brick himself might be getting some love interest in the form of Kristen Wiig.
Directed by Adam McKay and co-starring Christina Applegate, Paul Rudd and David Koechner, Anchorman: The Legend Continues will open in the UK on 1 August 2013.
