Steve Jobs biopic gets October release date
After an increasingly troubled production, Steve Jobs has an official release date, with Universal confirming that the forthcoming biopic will open in the US on 9 October 2015.
Having seen the likes of Leonardo DiCaprio and Christian Bale come and go, the production has now begun filming with Michael Fassbender in the title role, supported by Seth Rogen as Jobs’ Apple co-founder, Mike Wozniak.
Shooting has been taking place in California, with Danny Boyle and his crew having been granted access to the actual garage where Jobs and Wozniak began to build the first Apple computers.
The film will take the form of three thirty-minute scenes, each set immediately prior to a major product launch, climaxing with the unveiling of the iMac in 1998.
Jeff Daniels, Katherine Waterston and Michael Stuhlbarg will all co-star, while the script has been penned by Oscar-winner, Aaron Sorkin. Awards in the offing? Don’t bet against it…
