Street Fighter X Tekken gets serious as franchise creators square-off in comical video
Ono X Harada is what fans have really been waiting for
Since last year’s Comic-Con and the astonishing announcement of Namco and Capcom coming together for Street Fighter X Tekken and the yet to be seen Tekken X Street Fighter, we’ve seen some interesting matches during previews. There’s been Ryu vs Kazuya, Dhalsim vs Yoshimitsu, and Poison vs our sexual identity, but this video from Comic-Con yesterday trumps them all, as Street Fighter chief Yoshinori Ono faced Tekken franchise head Katsuhiro Harada in a series of increasingly silly physical challenges.
Styled like those classic, endurance-testing Japanese game shows, Ono and Harada competed in a series of activities, each one goofier than the last. And who won? We won’t give it away, but this video was shown at a Capcom event. Either way, you’ve got to hand it to both guys for putting this together for their fans, even as Capcom is facing some criticism of late from their followers. Did this video ease your pain at all?
