Suicide Squads Joker to be based on The Dark Knight Returns?
Some more details have emerged concerning Jared Leto’s Suicide Squad version of the Joker, with Latino Review claiming his take on the character will be heavily informed by The Dark Knight Returns.
The new report largely concerns itself with the Joker’s physical appearance, describing him as “lean and scarred”, but still bulkier than some other incarnations of the character.
In addition to that, the suggestion is that Leto’s Joker will be sporting bleached skin, as opposed to make-up, which should make for a striking visual aesthetic.
The report also states that the Joker and Harley Quinn will both share some exchanges with Dr. Hugo Strange, the twisted psychologist who is himself a member of Gotham’s gallery of rogues…
Directed by David Ayer and co-starring Will Smith, Jai Courtney, Margot Robbie and Joel Kinnaman, Suicide Squad will open in the UK and US on5 August 2016.
