Suspicious Dawn of War 2 footage strikes
What's thought to be a leaked trailer has hit the internet
Confirmation on Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 2 has appeared in print press.
According to reports, Belgian magazine PC Gameplay is first with details on the sequel. Relic is once again at the development helm and Orkz and Space Marine factions have been confirmed as present so far, both playable in co-operative campaigns.
It's not clear whether this means the sequel is echoing Red Alert 3's fully co-op orientated gameplay, which finds a number of players or a player and AI battling in the main campaign.
THQ declined to comment on Dawn of War 2's appearance in the magazine when contacted earlier. The sequel is apparently pegged for release in 2009.
In related news, what is thought to be a teaser video for the follow-up has leaked online. Check it out:
Relic's original Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War brought visceral futuristic combat to the RTS battlefield and its gameplay ideas paved the way for the developer's acclaimed Company of Heroes. We'll be keen to see if and how it can better that gem.
