Sylvester Stallone loves a not-so-cryptic clue as to who might be involved in The Expendables 3 , with Mel Gibson the latest to be linked by the musclebound star.
“Mad Max vs. Barney Ross…” speculates Stallone on his official Twitter feed, suggesting that Gibson is clearly on his radar for the second sequel.
Gibson was linked to the villain role in the new film just over a month ago, and this latest tidbit would appear to support that rumour as more than mere speculation.
Gibson is already set to play another OTT villain in Robert Rodriguez’s Machete Kills , and his involvement would certainly up the intrigue surrounding The Expendables 3 .
It’s worth noting that Stallone stopped short of officially announcing him, so a deal is clearly not done at this stage, but we wouldn’t be surprised to see this one wrapped up in the coming weeks…
