Taylor Kitsch to star in remake of The Raid?
Dependent on his involvement in True Detective
Taylor Kitsch is a man in demand at present, with The Wrap reporting that the action star has been offered the leading role in the US remake of The Raid .
According to the report, Kitsch is the top of director Patrick Hughes’ wish-list, with the pair having recently worked together on The Expendables 3 .
Frank Grillo has also been cast in the new film, with Luke Evans, Anthony Mackie and Ethan Hawke reportedly on the studio’s wish-list. Kitsch, however, is currently at the front of the queue.
However, any involvement in The Raid would depend on whether Kitsch is cast in the second series of True Detective , with which he has been strongly linked. Kitsch is thought to favour the TV option, with The Raid a potential fallback should that deal not come off.
Directed by Hughes from a script by Brad Ingelsby, The Raid is thought to closely follow the plot of the original film, and will begin filming in January 2015.
