The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have changed over the years, with some iterations being all about fun, others being far more violent, and there was even one time where the brothers formed a rock band. The latest big-screen version of the heroes are painted as outcasts who long to be a part of the surface world, and a new trailer for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows focuses in on exactly how they might do that.
Okay, color me intrigued, if a little worried about the film being overstuffed. Here we have a film that's featuring arch-nemesis Shredder, while simultaneously introducing Bebop, Rocksteady, Casey Jones, and Krang to the mix. As if ninja masters, mutated humans, hockey-themed vigilantes, and an interdimensional invasion weren't enough to deal with, now we see there's also going to be a new type of ooze that could make the turtles human.
I don't think anyone's expecting an Oscar-worthy production here, so as long as the filmmakers can keep it coherent and the action fun, I'll be satisfied.
Directed by Dave Green and starring Megan Fox, Stephen Amell, Will Arnett, William Fichtner, and Tyler Perry, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows is released in UK and US cinemas on June 3, 2016.
