Terminator reboot gets a new title
Introducing... Terminator: Genesis
Paramount and Annapurna’s 2015 Terminator reboot has been given an official title, with the new film set to go by the name Terminator: Genesis .
The new film will apparently take the original as a starting point, before steering the saga in a whole new direction, with a number of sequels and a tie-in TV series also planned.
As such, the new title fits the bill in a slightly generic way, although it’s vastly preferable to Terminator: Evolution , which was surely tossed around in at least one ideas meeting...
The project is thought to be deciding between Emilia Clarke and Brie Larson for the key role of Sarah Connor, while Tom Hardy is reportedly the studio’s pick to play her son, John.
Directed by Alan Taylor, with Arnold Schwarzenegger also set to make a return, Terminator: Genesis will open in the US on 1 July 2015, with a UK date still to be confirmed.
