Texas Chainsaw Massacre prequel to be called Leatherface
Film has also secured a writer
Millenium’s forthcoming prequel to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is coming along nicely, with the announcement of a new title and a new screenwriter.
The new film is now officially titled Leatherface, which would seem to back up recent reports that the plot will deal with the titular nutjob’s teenage years.
The film has also appointed a new screenwriter, with Seth M. Sherwood now on board to pen the script. A director is expected to be added to the mix within the next couple of weeks.
Having seen the recent Texas Chainsaw 3D open strongly before dropping off drastically, Millenium will be hoping to tap into an audience beyond the franchise devotees.
The Wrap reports that production could begin on Leatherface by winter 2014, with no official release confirmed as yet. Put your money on an October date…
