TGS 2011: Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 confirmed for Vita launch
Capcom’s fighter gets online multiplayer and unique controls
Capcom wasn’t content with having the biggest announcement at Nintendo’s Tokyo Game Show press conference – it needed to crash Sony’s Vita conference as well. After blowing the lid off Nintendo’s event by revealing Monster Hunter 4 for the 3DS, the publisher took to the show to announce that its upcoming brawler, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, will be out for Vita launch in Japan (and, we assume, America as well).
The Vita version will apparently feature an experience that they claim is identical to the console version, including online multiplayer over the PlayStation Network to let players fight competitively on the go. The main difference between the versions will come in the Vita’s controls, which will be enhanced with the option to play with the handheld’s touch screen. While we’re sure this isn’t going to be of interest to Marvel vs. Capcom 3 elitists, it will likely provide a more streamlined way for casual gamers to get involved.
